Welcome: Pastor Alexis Pena-Vazquez and his wife Yunia Licea Orasma
Pastor Alexis Pena-Vazquez and his wife Yunia Licea Orasma will be moving here from Frederick, Maryland on July 9. He was born on June 16, 1972 in Cuba. He was baptized and received as a member of the Methodist Church in Cuba on November 14, 1989 and was ordained a Presbyter for the Annual Conference of the Methodist Church in Cuba on June 17, 2005. He served churches in the Granma, Pinar del Rio and Matanzas Provinces in Cuba.
In 2015 they moved to the United States and here he has served as the Hispanic-Latino Ministry at Trinity UMC and Brook Hill UMC both in Frederick, Maryland.
They will be moving to Jacksonville on Tuesday, July 9. Their plans are to leave Maryland around 1 to 2 AM and arrive here mid to late afternoon. We will need volunteers to help off load their furniture. If you can help please call Susan Davis, 607-1728 so she can notify you of their projected arrival time.
Their first Sunday with us will be July 14. This will be a joint service with a pot-luck meal following. The church will provide the meat. Please plan on joining us to welcome Pastor Alex and Yunia.
