Suggestions for Online Worship:
Being able to worship online is wonderful, but it is not the same. Here are several suggestions on how to be more engaged while watching services online:
1. Prepare for Worship – Get yourself ready as if you were coming into the building.
2. Create a Special Place – Pick a place in your home for “church”. If it is at a table maybe light a candle. Use a purple place-mat of cloth to symbolize the season. Place a cross on the table. Open your Bible and hymnal if you have one. Making a special place makes watching online feel different than normal video or TV viewing.
3. Worship Together with Friends Virtually – Call, video chat or text a few friends before the service begins This will remind you that you are not alone and there are others worshiping with you.
4. Move - Try standing up when singing a hymn or during prayer, just like you would in the sanctuary.
5. Sing - There is no need to worry whether you are on key or not! Make a joyful noise to the Lord!
6. Share a picture - Take a picture of yourself and your family worshiping together and share it online. If you share it on Facebook, tag the church. It will help create a sense of community.
